Product Review

There is only one Timex Ironman Triathlon 30-Lap watch. Don't swim, bike, run, jump, climb, throw, or kick without one. It comes equipped with a stainless steel case, and the durable stainless steel band fastens with a tenacious fold-over clasp with safety. The matte gray dial face is prominently embellished with easy-to-read digital numerals, and for additional time-keeping efficiency, there is a handy day-date-and-month calendar and a three-alarm setting. Other features include a daily alarm and an Occasion Mode reminder. Exercise enthusiasts will swoon over the 30-lap recall accessory. Powered by digital-quartz movement, this timepiece is stylish enough for a weekend warrior, yet technical enough for an extreme athlete. This watch is water resistant up to 330 feet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great watch, but band has design flaw!, January 15, 2008

I've owned many of the Timex Ironman watches including 4 of this style with the metal bands over the last 20 or so years. All have been great watches. I bought this watch only because my present watch battery is dying and the casing is looking aged - letters are worn and faded - not as dressy as when new, but still a great watch.
However, this watch has a design flaw - a weak point in the pin where the band connects to the watch. I bought my watch in November and the pin broke twice - within 3 weeks each time. Both of the times the watch had slipped down against against where my hand meets my wrist. When I used my hand to get up from sitting on a bleacher seat, the leverage from the hand against the band snapped the pin. The second break happened in a similar matter. Nothing unusually stressful. Never had this happen with any of my other Timex watches. The design flaw is that the pin is not replaceable by the user. There's no way to get to the pin or to replace it. Fortunately, I...Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars THE BRACELET BREAKS WITHOUT ANY EFFORTS OF ANY KIND!!!, January 12, 2009

I did not want to believe the review of B. Watson (Atlanta, GA) who said that the bracelet has a design flaw and that it breaks too easily than normal. He was right!!

I bought the watch and, 12 days after buying it, the bracelet broke!!! I just moved my arm higher within the arm of my coat and the watch was in contact only with the inside of my coat and it broke. I did not do any movement that was violent in any way or force anything in any way when I moved my arm and the watch was on me. I could not believe it!! Very shocking!!

I will ask a refund and I will try to find a watch that can be fully reliable for both the bracelet and the watch itself.

I would have liked to try the watch again but I am now too convinced that the bracelet has a design flaw to even care getting a replacement.

The irony is that the bracelet looks strong! The problem is that it is as strong as its weakest links!

Conclusion: the bracelet has a design flaw...Read more

I liked the looks of this watch, however the band has a flaw. The band which you would think is strong cause its stainless steel. but the where it connects to the watch itself is plastic and very fragile. I broke mine with minimal effort. I did however got another timex the band is very strong but it is analog and digital and the battery doesnt last long cause although the digital part is working the analog is very slow. Just goes to show you timex isnt into takin a licking and keeps on ticking but rather keep for a year and part of this watch stops working just so you will buy another.
