This is my 3rd Seiko watch, so there's no doubt for me regarding the quality of Seiko. Because the first two are more expensive (gifts, I need a daily watch that's reliable, durable, and has good look. As a college student with limited budget, this one fits right into my range.
I like the med size dial and strap width because i have a small wrist. I would not recommend this for a muscular person, it'll seem unbalanced on such wrist. The dial is not just flat black, it has a slight reflective shine to it, which adds some elegance to this piece. I also pick this for its minimalist look: clean and simple dial as compared to chronographs. The 2 roman numeral numbers (12, 6) adds a sense of sophistication, as compared to plain marks or numbers. Stainless steel band is more durable than leather or nylon strap. The date window is just the right size, not too big or small.
Some point i want to bring up regarding this watch:
1. no nighttime viewing on the dial &...Read more

Let me start by saying that I really do love this watch. I got a ridiculous deal on it (<$50) and I don't regret buying it for one second. That being said, my first Seiko watch was a Le Grand Sport, which is significantly higher quality than this one and more than 3x as expensive. Everything from the box down to the watch face is nicer on the Le Grand Sport, which is why I was initially a little bit disappointed when I saw the plastic box. While the packaging is unimpressive, the watch itself is fantastic. I absolutely love the way the hands look--that was the main reason for getting this model over other similar Seiko models. Unfortunately, the watch face itself is pretty simple and does not have the same subtle design flourishes that the Le Grand Sport had. The crystal does not feel as sturdy or scratch-resistant as the Le Grand Sport (not really sure what "Hardlex" is), although I don't have any scratches or other problems with it so far. All that being said, this feels very...Read more

I was leery of buying a watch online that I couldnt physically see/hold/wear. I took a chance on this one and have been pleased ever since. My old Bulova watch was starting to go on the fritz and I was wanting a new watch to wear for casual purposes. I have a Rolex as well but I dont like wearing it every day. I was looking for something that was going to be sleek, casual but still classy looking, metal band and most of all not bulky or look huge on my wrist. I chose this one because it met those criteria but most of all the price was great!! I was tremendously pleased when it arrived and it was everything I was hoping for. My only complaint would be that the band was too large when it came, as is with most metal band watches, but I just took it to the watch kiosk at the mall and they were able to take a link out for me. Pretty simple fix. I now wear this watch most of the time and would easily buy again if something were to happen to it.
