Just purchased this watch to replace one that finally needed to be 'retired'. I bought this same watch at a jewelry shop in Pensacola, FL about 20 years ago and in all that time it only needed a few battery changes. I wore it every day, it kept perfect time and I got many compliments on how nice it looked. Once a friend asked me to take it off so he could see it more closely. The first words out of his mouth when I placed it in his hand were "Wow, this is a good watch!" It has a weighty impressive feel to it.
At the last daylight savings time change the setting stem (finally) failed and a jeweler's repair estimate was about $60.00. 20 years is a long lifetime for a watch in this price range so I went the extra 17 bucks for a new one. I hadn't noticed how 'aged' my old watch had become in almost 2 decades and was very pleased when I got the new one - It shines "...like a new penny" and has a very impressive appearance.
