Product Review

Elegantly styled for an evening out to the opera or the dance club, the silver-tone Citizen Eco-Drive Elektra women's stainless steel watch will shine a ray of luxurious light thanks to its sparkling accent of 16 diamonds along the round bezel. This round, mid-sized women's watch measures approximately 1 inch wide. The spare, milky white dial background features silver Dauphine hands (with seconds hand), silver dotted dial markers, and a Roman numeral at 12 o'clock. The highly polished stainless steel bracelet band complements the shine of the bezel's diamonds. It also features a scratch resistant mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating and water resistance to 30 meters (99 feet).

This watch is powered by Citizen's unique Eco-Drive, which absorbs sunlight and any artificial light through the crystal and dial to recharge the watch continuously. With regular exposure to light, the Eco-Drive continuously recharges itself for a lifetime of use. This watch's Eco-Drive provides a 180-day power reserve, and it can be recharged with just 3 hours of exposure to light.

1.0 out of 5 stars design flaw on clasp, April 16, 2007

. I love citizen eco drive watches. They are usually so painlessly carefree. This model, however, is not a good pick!. If you need the band sized,as I did, the band now fits perfectly, but to unclasp the watch, you have to reach inside between watch and wrist to manuever the deployment clasp. It's next to impossible.

I understand the reason... the band then looks like it's all one piece. it's just not worth the trouble. I literally had to stick a pointed object under the watch to get it to release. A sharp, pointed object near your radial artery is just never a good idea. Think twice here.

The face color looks white in the photo but is actually grey and purple.

Also, the watch looks much cheaper than in the photo, and diamonds are very small.

So, I sent it back. The refund was prompt.

I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". I bought this watch about 3 years ago, and I love it. The stainless steel holds up well and looks great even after much wear and tear. The eco-drive component of Citizen watches is excellent; I have never had any issues with this watch keeping time, and I enjoy not having to rely upon a battery. Buy this watch - you won't regret it.
