I like this watch a lot. For the price range you can't beat it. It blends ruggedness, style, performance and practicality very well so I can use it in almost any situation. The fact that it is solar is a big plus for me because I hate reaching for a watch when I'm getting dressed and realizing it is out of batteries. I picked it up for $236 from Amazon, which was a great deal.

Why I like it:

Stylish without being flashy. The all-black look is a bit 'navy seals' but there are enough styling cues to make it look classier and more "high-end rugged" than the price would indicate (i.e. it cold be a $1,000 Swiss Army watch). Although it could be a military watch, you could wear it to a job interview as well.

Quality. Everything about the watch feels solid, the buttons have good resistance without being hard to push, and the fit and finish are excellent (not quite a Tag but you're also not spending $6,000).

This watch is quickly becoming one on my favorites. Solid Japanese quartz movement powered by Citizen's proven Eco-Drive in a nice-sized 43mm case. If the size seems too large for you, rest assured that the subdued black face and clean lines help to minimize its size on smaller wrists. The dial is super easy to read and the sword hands help draw your eye to the numerals/indicators. And the lume! If you get this watch, go into a dark room after charging the watch for a bit in sunlight or under a fluorescent. You'll be amazed at how bright the lume is. And since all the indicators, numerals and hands are lumed, this watch really shines (pun intended) in the dark.

With its nylon strap and sturdy build, I have a feeling this is going to be a nice rugged daily driver. The black nylon strap with reinforced holes adds some character and imparts a more casual and sporty look that I find quite appealing. This is a nice looking watch, save maybe for the fabric band which is a little unusual. The problem is that it probably shouldn't have taken my watch repairman neighbor to tell me that it is not a genuine Citizen. A casual look at the back will show that the case has a sticker instead of being stamped with the Citizen brand, etc. Amazon was good about processing its return, though.
