Bulova Men's 98A105 Marine Star Automatic Black Dial Watch

After happily owning another Bulova for 10 years, I was sure that this watch would be equally attractive, comfortable, and well-made. When I received the 98a105 this expectation was validated. This is a beautiful watch which will receive many compliments. It's comfortable, and is just the right size in diameter and thickness to fit any wrist size. It was also made with good attention to detail, like the slightly domed crystal, satin / polished case and band, and nicely designed and visible movement. This is a great automatic watch at a great price - I would have paid 2x - 3x without hesitation.

I recently become infatuated with mechanical watches. The idea that I could have a timepiece that relies solely on mechanical energy (gears and springs) in the modern world where almost every accessory has connection to Wi-Fi and the 3G network was very refreshing to me. Unfortunately, like most people, I couldn't really bring myself to spend thousands of dollars on a swiss brand like Omega or Rolex. This watch is very affordable for anyone, and is absolutely beautiful. Right out of the box I realized that it is much better looking than the pictures show. I love that it not only has a clear back so you can see all of the gears, but it also has a little window in the face that is constantly spinning back and forth. The second hand ticks every 1/5 second (I think) to give it a "sweeping" look. It doesn't keep perfect time (I've had to set it back a couple minutes two different times in the month that I've owned it) but it hasn't been a problem at all for me.

I felt obligated to write this note just to let everyone know how beautiful this watch looks and how happy I was with my purchase. It looks great on the wrist, it has a decently large face and the "sweep movement" second hand is a nice touch. GREAT PURCHASE.
PS: It does not have a date dial, which might be an issue for some people, but not for me.
