I purchased the Bulova 96A106 watch in July, 2010. I was skeptical at first because I have never owned a Bulova before. I can now say that I made a great purchase! I have worn it daily for nearly six months. So far it has been an excellent watch. The self winding feature is very good. And depending on how much I wear it, it can last up to two days without winding. Perhaps more, I simply haven't left it off my wrist that long. A rough estimate of winding time to running time with occasional winding is about 4 hours wearing/winding time (driving a car or something like that) to about 24 hours of run time. That's a very unofficial and non-scientific estimate.
As far as the looks, I like it. Women often compliment me on it. My techy friends think it is cool because of the windowed back so you can see the gears. My green hippie friends think it is good that there is no battery to replace. It dresses up well for business casual, and dresses down for jeans just as well...Read more

I'll keep this short.
Pros:
- Looks very sharp; I get compliments all the time
- Very heavy and well-made
- You can actually see all the way through your watch and out the other side in the small window. Pretty neat!
- Sweeping second hand
Cons:
- Needs to be worn daily for an extended period of time to charge itself. If I take it off at work, it will NOT get enough juice throughout the rest of the day to keep it going overnight. Skip two days and you will definitely have to reset the time on Monday morning. You can also manually wind it, but that's inconvenient.
- Kinda TOO big...
- Clasp mechanism is in perhaps the worst-possible spot. At least one side of it comes undone far too often when I bend my hand down and accidentally engage the button
- Bezel looks kinda cheaply molded
- Chrome wore off the band in some spots super-quickly just from (very) light usage rubbing up against the smooth surface...Read more

Eventhough it hurts even have missed the offer of another model that I liked more. I have no complaints is an elegant model for both casual wear to formal proper weight to disturb anything.
my first choice to start my collection :)
