Breitling's Superocean series was launched in the 1950s to meet the needs of professional and military divers. Like all the watches in the Superocean series, the Steelfish X-Plus combines sleek lines and energetic styling with superior performance. Cut from a solid block of steel and outfitted on Breitling's triple link steel Professional II bracelet, the Steelfish X-Plus 587 features a screw-down crown and caseback as well as a pressure-balancing safety valve, for water resistance to a full 2000 meters. The large brushed and polished steel case highlights a highly legible black dial with large luminescent hands and circular luminescent hour markers. The dial also features a red-tipped luminescent seconds hand, applied Arabic numerals, 24-hour time markings, and a date window at the three o'clock hour. The dial is capped by a scratch-resistant glareproof sapphire crystal and framed by a unidirectional rotating steel bezel with engraved dive time markers.
